This week's case is the infamous case of Edmund Kemper, the Co-Ed Killer.
Brought to by your girls Carrie and Lozza, Ed Kemper was a serial killer who was convicted of murdering seven women and one girl between May 1972 and April 1973. However this wasn't Kemper's first murder spree as years earlier, at the age of just 15, Kemper had murdered his grandparents and sent to an adult psychiatric hospital where he honed his skills as a master manipulator, managing to get released on his 21st birthday.
Believing Kemper was fully rehabilitated and no longer a danger to himself or others he was free to roam the streets of Santa Cruz, picking up hitch hikers, trying to push down the his homicidal feelings until one day it became too much. For almost a year he stalked and terrorised the area, especially the young female students of the nearby colleges.
Who knows how long he would have got away with it if he hadn't of handed himself in to the police.
Kemper is still alive today and has been studied by many law enforcement and psychiatric professionals, assisting with offender profiling for the FBI.
