In this episode of BLEAV in A’s, Tyler Texeira, Luke Mitchell, Alec Dennett and Devin Neel discuss the possibility of Kyler Murray returning to baseball after comments from Athletics GM David Forst saying the organization would be open to the former first-round pick exploring a return. Murray was drafted ninth overall by the A’s in the 2018 MLB Draft but chose to pursue an NFL career instead.

With Murray now an NFL free agent, the conversation turns to whether a return to baseball could actually happen and what that would mean for the Athletics.

The episode also covers ESPN’s Top 100 MLB players list for the 2026 season, including four Athletics players making the rankings. Tyler, Luke, Alec and Devin react to Nick Kurtz coming in at No. 29 along with Brent Rooker, Shea Langeliers, and Jacob Wilson making the list.

The discussion expands to other teams as well, including reactions to players from the Giants and Red Sox appearing on the rankings.

Later in the episode, the conversation turns into a heated debate about Derek Jeter and his place among the greatest shortstops of all time. Devin argues that Jeter is overrated due to his defensive metrics, while Tyler makes the case that Jeter remains the greatest shortstop in MLB history based on his career accomplishments, leadership, and postseason success.

The guys also briefly touch on the upcoming World Baseball Classic and Team USA entering the tournament as the betting favorite.
