    Good Morning Nashville ☀️

NEW WEEK NEW EPISODE! We’re excited to have you guys here listening in to the Black Men Vent Too Podcast. One day, we want to be the one stop shop in Nashville for any man, regardless of their ethnical background, to know that we have resources readily available whenever there is a need for them. Whether you’re white, black, blue or purple, mental health is real. And we honor that here every week with our guests on our platform.

With that said … let’s dive into today’s episode!

If you’ve followed us for a while, then you know to not let our podcast name fool you. We embrace ANY man who needs our platform, but we naturally as black men stand for OUR men above anything else. We love to bring a variety of guests on the show, to emphasize how mental health affects us all … not just our culture of men. Presenting to some and introducing to others, he’s as smooth as butter and cooler than the other side of the pillow, we’re excited to bring our guy “Music City Matte” to the show! ⭐️

Matt comes to our platform and vents on the passion he has behind being a father to his two boys. Fatherhood did not start off ideally for Matt, as he talks about being in back and forth custody battles for almost 5 years of his son’s life. A native of Florida, Matt talks about his time in prison and how that 10 year setback made things more challenging for him down the line, especially when it comes to navigating through court processes. Research shows that fathers, no matter the ethicist or racial ground, have made transformative efforts in being present and active in their children’s lives. But for some reason, Matt’s story is like that of many fathers. When we as man are told to “fight for our children”, is this what the fight looks like? Is this what we as men have to endure … just to be in the lives of children we help create? Today’s episode is a good one, lock in and don’t miss it! ✌🏽

    Good Morning Nashville ☀️

It truly has been a blessing seeing our followers and supporters grow with us, as we continue to try and grow as a brand. One day, we want to be the one stop shop in Nashville for any man, regardless of their ethnical background, to know that we have resources readily available whenever there is a need for them. With that said, let’s get into today’s episode!

WE ARE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THAT BLACK MEN VENT TOO HAS OUR FIRST OFFICIAL BRAND DEAL AS A PODCAST! 🔥 (tune into our BMVT Commercial Break Segment for more info)

We are excited to bring to our platform a young brother who truly embodies what a family man is all about. To go from being expelled in school multiple times … to now being a father, husband, and Doctor’s Degree recipient, is a story that you don’t want to miss. Presenting to some, and introducing to others, our good brother Dr. Dameion Cowans.

Dr. Cowans, born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, comes and vents on the show about his upbringing. Affectionately known as “Dang Dang” back home, he talks about being brought up around drugs, violence, and guns desensitized him to a lot of things. He recalls being in school, and a teacher tied him up … with the excuse being that he was “too bad and unruly.” Dr. Cowans was kicked out of pre school, middle school, 9th grade, 11th grade, and was accepted into Tennessee State University on academic probation, graduating with a 1.7.

    Then God…

Dr. Cowans talks about how faith really reshaped and reframed his life for the better. He credits God solely to him being a better man, and a better servant. Being a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church, Dr. Cowans vents about life today versus life back then. And how it was nothing but God, who has been able to give him a sense of peace that surpasses all understanding. Lock in! Today’s episode is one you don’t want to miss!

    Jul 1 2025

    Good Morning Nashville ☀️

CHEERS 🥂 TO A GREAT MEN’S MENTAL HEALTH MONTH! IF YOU’RE A BLACK MAN (OR ANY MAN) READING THIS AND YOU WOKE UP THIS MORNING, YOU WINNING 🥇

That is the way we want to cap off the last day of Men’s Mental Health Month! It has truly been a blessed month as we have been dropping episodes, been active within the community at various mental health events, and have enjoyed the fellowship of so many as we all aim to change the narrative behind black men one episode at a time. This is our FINAL episode to end our “Black Entrepreneurship” season, and we truly hope you have enjoyed the slate of episodes from this series of BMVT. 🙏🏽

With that said, let’s get into today’s episode! 🔥

The BEST way, is the official way.” That is the catchy slogan to a thriving black owned business here in Nashville that continues to find unique flavors to satisfy any stomach it comes in contact with. We are excited to present to some and introduce to others, two of the four founders of “Official Wings”, Mr. Edward Howard & Keith Morgan. 🍗

We sit down with these brothers and talk all things entrepreneurship. From balancing marriages and relationships, to having to juggle kids and their schedules, importance of having a team, handling business operations while dealing with grief, we unpacked a lot in today’s episode. Edward vents about a time where he had to arrange the funeral for his father, while also trying to start and open a business at the same time. He mentioned how much of a pillar his dad was in his life, and upon his passing, he knew that the legacy must continue on. Keith comes to our platform, a graduate of Tennessee State University, and vents about what the business looked like while operating during COVID. We all remember where we were during the pandemic, and he vents about how that journey looked along with discussing with us some of the ways he has overcome his most difficult mental struggles. Today’s episode is a good one, don’t miss it! Lock in! ✌🏽
