About this listen

Hi! I'm baaaaaack! And I've got some stories for ya! Per usual, I am just barely hitting the tail end of a deadline with some important people I want to talk about in honor of Black History Month.

Bessie Coleman: Queen Bess was the FIRST Black and Indigenous woman to earn her pilot's license. Another thing? She was a stunt flyer! This incredible woman did all the flips and swoops and things!

Eunice Hunton Carter: the inspiration behind one of the characters of "Boardwalk Empire". Mrs. Carter was the first Black woman prosecutor for New York County. She also established and was responsible for building most of the case that brought down Mafia Boss "Lucky" Luciano.

Bad, bad, bad boss women to inspire us all is just how I want to start this podcasting year!

"Invisible: The Forgotten Story of the Black Woman Lawyer Who Took Down America's Most Powerful Mobster"

Correction: In the podcast, I say "Boardwalk Empire" debuted in 1914 - that's crazy talk - I meant 2014!
