Ben and Trevor use the release of Silksong as a prompt to create some classic platformers and metroidvanias, using random movies as a prompt. Discover games such as:

Garfield - the MegaDrive/Genesis 90s platformer,

The Cable Guy - a metroidvania with inspiration from Metroid Dredd,

Ghost World - a game about discovering your ghostly abilities to unlock further levels,

and more!

With 2nd Brackey's Game Jam just having finished for 2025, Ben and Trev take the theme of the jam and discuss some game ideas incorporating the theme. The theme for this year was "Risk it for the Biscuit." The games discussed include:

• A Grant Grover adventure game investigating counterfeit augments.
• A game set in the Tower of Babylon.
• A precision platformer with a retry mechanic.

Ben and Trevor are exploring the idea of sharing information in games via websockets, and so this week are taking What 3 Words and combining them with that idea. The result is games such as:

• playing a platformer where one of you is an imposter
• solving a mystery in a deduction game where you can only communicate via scrapbooking
• an asymmetrical multiplayer game where one person control the weather
• and more!

Ben once again invited Trev over to discuss games that don't exist in his office. They utilised a random movie generator to prompt the game ideas. The various ideas discussed were:

• A game where 7 hackers must work together, meanwhile there is a traitor within their midst.
• Multiple cartoons are birthed by a village in a horror adventure.
• A third person game where you play multiple characters, one of which turns out to be a serial killer.

Trevor and Ben utilise What Three Words to get random prompts for this week's video games - they come up with ideas such as:

Using time travel for minor inconveniences;

A wine expert dealing with prohibition;

A custom peripheral for patching circuits together;

and more!

With GMTK Game Jam just having finished, Ben and Trev try their hand at what games could go with the theme, LOOP. The games discussed were:

• A desperate housewives inspired time loop game, where you have one day to solve a murder in a suburban cul-de-sac... oh and you are a fish.
• Handle the network traffic of the Sandman
• Answer questions and make your way up through the pantheon of the gods, in a bureaucratic simulator.

Ben and Trevor use movie titles and descriptions as prompts to come up with video game ideas, such as:

a golf game slash romance visual novel;

a spy thriller starring Popeye;

hunting home invaders with fire;

and more!

Ben and Trev are back at it again with their new weird random word generator. The results are of course super random and are unlike any game that does or could exist. The games discussed were:

• A worm typing an article for a newspaper
• A tuff (sic) golem guarding a volcano god
• An adventure set through time on a planet with an unusual calendar system.
