  • The Difference Between Gratitude and Thanksgiving | Bible, Bros & Brew
    Dec 15 2025

As we've journeyed through the scriptures regarding the importance of being grateful, a thought-provoking idea has emerged: Is there a difference between gratitude and thanksgiving? Armed with the Bible and a healthy supply of coffee, David & Phil tackle this intriguing question, and the discoveries they've made are definitely worth further study. Using key verses from the Old and New Testaments, the bros offer this thesis: Gratitude is an attitude of the heart based on an inward acknowledgement and appreciation of who God is and what He's done, whereas thanksgiving is the outward expression of gratefulness to God for all that the heart experiences. So grab your Bible and your favorite cup of java or tea, and join us as we explore the life-changing power of gratefulness!

  • The Missing Piece of Humility: Why Repentance Unlocks Spiritual Growth
    Nov 24 2025

As we’ve journeyed through our series on pride and humility, a powerful, often-overlooked theme has emerged: repentance. What does the Bible really mean when it calls us to repent? And why is repentance inseparable from true humility?
Simply put, repentance is the decision to turn around — to walk away from thoughts, habits, and actions that pull us away from God. It’s humility in motion. When you see yourself clearly before God, repentance is the step that transforms clarity into spiritual growth.
In this episode of Bible Bros & Brew, David & Phil dig deep into the scriptures to uncover:
What repentance truly means in the Bible
Why humility, submission, and repentance work together
Why pride blinds us to our real condition
The connection between motives and unanswered prayer (James 4)
How God restores those who humble themselves (2 Chronicles 7:14)
Why repentance isn’t just “feeling sorry,” but turning toward a new direction
Whether you’ve struggled with recurring sin, discouragement, or feeling stuck spiritually, this conversation brings fresh clarity and encouragement.
So brew up your favorite coffee or tea, grab your Bible and notebook, and join us as we explore God’s Word together!

  • Pride vs. Humility: Real Talk About Submission | Bible, Bros & Brew
    Nov 17 2025

The word "submission" tends to get a bad rap in today's culture, and understandably so, because it has often been used as a tool for manipulation and control by people who have a very one-sided view of what that word means. Fortunately, the Bible provides a very well-rounded definition of submission, and contrary to popular opinion, it has nothing to do with becoming a doormat or a punching bag for others. In this episode, David & Phil dig into the scriptures to explore how submission is inextricably linked to the expression of true humility, and how practicing biblical submission can benefit your life in an untold number of ways. So grab your Bible, your notebook, and your favorite cup of joe or tea, and join us as we delve into this fascinating topic!
