About this listen

Welcome to Beyond The Surface! 🎙️

A podcast where we dive deep into the realms of philosophy, psychology, and mental health—unpacking life’s biggest questions and exploring the human experience. Join me, Mohammad, as I bring thought-provoking discussions, personal insights, and expert perspectives to the table. Whether you're seeking self-improvement, intellectual conversations, or just a fresh perspective on life, this is the place for you.

I’m someone who’s always been drawn to the depths — of thoughts, of feelings, of language, of people. I don’t do well with surface-level talk, even though I’ve spent years learning how to express myself more clearly, especially across the different languages and cultures I carry with me. Arabic, English, Turkish — each one opens a different part of me. And sometimes, that’s felt like a gift. Other times, a burden. But it’s always been real.

I’ve spent most of my life trying to figure out not just who I am — but how to be. How to articulate what I believe. How to stand up for it. How to stay curious without losing myself in the noise.

This podcast — Beyond The Surface — isn’t just a project. It’s a reflection of how I think, live, and grow. I don’t want to preach, or pretend to have it all figured out. I just want to explore what matters: purpose, identity, language, emotion, philosophy, and everything in between. I want to ask the uncomfortable questions — the ones we often avoid — and try to answer them honestly.

I’ve struggled with articulation, with perfectionism, with self-doubt. I’ve wrestled with cultural expectations and the weight of “fitting in.” But each challenge pushed me closer to clarity — and to courage. I’m still learning, still evolving, still rewriting myself with every episode, every thought, every silence.

If you’re someone who feels caught between worlds, who overthinks things, who’s trying to find meaning without losing your authenticity — you’re not alone.

This is where we start.
Not at the top. Not in the spotlight.
But beyond the surface.

  • The Inheritance Of Culture: How Culture Shapes Who We Are ?
    Oct 27 2025

    For Feedbacks

In this episode, I sit down with Professor Güven from Earlham College (USA) to explore how culture quietly shapes the way we think, feel, and see the world. What begins as an improvised conversation turns into a deep reflection on cultural inheritance, identity, and perception; and how much of who we are is actually passed down to us, often without our awareness.

We all crave freedom, but few of us are ready for what it demands. In this episode, I explore the thin line between freedom and responsibility; through my own experiences and the ideas of Sartre, Nietzsche, and Kierkegaard.
