  • Soap Deaths: Murder, Mourning and Molly
    Mar 1 2026

Welcome to episode 5 of Besties, That’s Iconic with Elle Savage and Laurence Driscoll. In this week’s episode, we do a deep dive into the tragic world of soap deaths. As kids we met these beloved characters on our favourite TV shows, built attachments to them in weeknightly 30-minute slots, followed their hopes and dreams, and then watched as they died in horrific speedboat accidents in front of us. Let’s unpack that!

Please note that this episode includes discussions of a LOT of death, including terminal illness, suicide, plane and car crashes, and drownings. Absolutely skip this episode if you need to. • Australia's Next Top Model: Fashion, Feuds and Finales
    Feb 22 2026

Welcome to episode 4 of Besties, That’s Iconic with Elle Savage and Laurence Driscoll! In today’s episode we do a deep dive into the very toxic world of reality TV with Australia’s Next Top Model. We discuss how it came to be, why it should never happen again, and whether or not we think the disastrous season 6 live finale was staged. It’s a wild ride!

In a wild timing coincidence, we deep dove into this topic just a few weeks before the America’s Next Top Model Netflix documentary premiered, in case you’re wondering why we don’t mention it.

Also, one more note besties, in the time since we recorded this episode Cosmopolitan Magazine has sadly gone under once more. It’s a brutal world, this media business.

Please note that this episode includes discussions of bullying, mental health, and suicide. If you or someone you know is experiencing violence or abuse, please contact 1800 RESPECT on 1800 737 732 or visit https://1800respect.org.au

  • Bardot: Popstars, Poison and Power
    Feb 15 2026

Hello and welcome to episode 3 of Besties, That’s Iconic with Elle Savage and Laurence Driscoll. In today’s episode we do a deep dive into the world of Australian music royalty, Bardot. We discuss how the band was formed on one of the first reality TV shows, their explosion onto the charts with their banger hit Poison, and the eventual collapse of the band at the hands of “men in suits” (allegedly).

In a wild turn of events besties, this episode was recorded just shortly before the reunion of Bardot at Mighty Hoopla Sydney was announced. You’ll hear us talk a bit about whether or not a reunion is possible and, turns out, it is! MAGICAL! This episode was meant to come out later in the season but we’ve brought it forward in celebration.

  • Introducing Besties, That's Iconic
    Feb 1 2026

Hello and welcome to episode 1 of Besties, That’s Iconic with Elle Savage and Laurence Driscoll. Each week we dive into an iconic Australian media moment and talk about the way in which it shaped us. From the Young Talent Time stage to the Gold Coast apartments of Pacific Drive, from Ramsay Street and Summer Bay to Westside and Wandin Valley, come with us as we chat about what was going on, what went right (or wrong), and the legacy that is left behind today.

In today’s debut episode you’ll get to know us as we start to get to know each other. We discuss the community that has built up around the Elle Savage page, what it’s like to see ‘Dannii Minogue is now following you’ in your notifications and we’ll also debunk the long lasting rumour of a Minogue Feud, proving that the sisters are, and have always been, each other’s biggest fans (followed closely by Elle and Laurence).

Please note that this episode includes discussions of mental health, infertility, and abuse. If you or someone you know is experiencing violence or abuse, please contact 1800 RESPECT on 1800 737 732 or visit https://1800respect.org.au
