  • The making of Homewrecker
    Jul 18 2022

Homewrecker- my Youtube film, saw me dismantle an old house to get a collection of wood before it was demolished. In this episode, Mitch and I talk about the film from an on-the ground, then post production filmmaking perspective. It's a lively conversation with the two blokes who make my simple and sometimes odd ideas into a film.

  • Commenting on Comments: Marathon My Age
    Jun 6 2022

I get a lot of comments on YouTube. Thousands of em. Not unlike the miniature whiteboard I hung on my door at college, folks from all walks of life from all corners of the globe let it be known that I’m a good egg, an egomaniac, or in need of (or lack of) drugs. I thought ‘what an excellent basis for a Podcast’- comment on my comments! Heretis for my latest film,  Marathon My Age.

  • The making of Marathon My Age
    Apr 21 2022

Marathon My Age- my Youtube film, saw me run 42.195km's on my 42.195th birthday. In this episode, Mitch and I talk about the film from a filmmaking perspective. It's a lively conversation with the windows open in the garden shed (our studio), with the two blokes who make my simple and sometimes odd ideas into binge worthy, YouTube gold (this film has never won anything, particularly anything gold).

  • Jade on being the smarter sibling
    Jan 31 2022

Being a big sister is a big responsibility, especially when the little brother is a bit loose. With mum as contender for being the first reader of The Backyard Adventurer, which also means she was the key typo finder for the first edition, Jade knows the book as well as I do. As siblings we talk about being writers, before moving onto some more Beau and Jade memories that are a bit fun, irrelevant, and typical of good friends that are also related.

  • Helen on living with a bearded man
    Jan 29 2022

My wife is a classic. Not like a classic car, more like a classic song from a 1980’s movie that’s everyone's favourite and you can’t help but hum along when it comes on the radio. Warm, honest, streetsmart and funny without meaning to be, my wife's assessment of me and my book is a fine piece of poddy theatre.

  • Mum on the stupidity of risk
    Jan 29 2022

Mum was the first to read my book The Backyard Adventurer, and pulls no punches when it comes to, well, everything. She is blunt, loving, our third parent to May, and has a great intolerance for doing risky things. Mum and I share rainfall data and she’s one of my best mates. Our brief chat is about the book, drunk idiots and parenthood.
