Originally, I planned to launch this podcast under the title Be the Medicine. Due to an unexpected and heartbreaking turn of events, I decided that although this title felt aligned, it must return o the compost.

As many of you who know me know, I often say... without the s**t, there would be no compost, from which the fertile seeds of our soul can sprout. I'm grateful for all of it.

To honor the original roots of this dream, I leave this previous trailer here for now with a new name. And, I am celebrating because a new seed has sprouted.

I'm delighted to share that The Nectar Drop feels even more aligned with the vision for this audio journey. For those of you who downloaded it under Be the Medicine, thank you for your support.

    A Ripple from the Past...

Welcome to Be the Medicine - Remember, the remedy is within.

Many of us search for healing and for answers to the big questions around life, love, health, wealth, and death. Looking for relief to our suffering in various places, the last place we usually look is deep within ourselves. Yet, when we finally do, we discover that we can often be the medicine or the poison for our mental, physical, and spiritual health. So, let’s be the medicine, shall we?

While most define medicine today as prescription drugs or Western Medicine, requiring a Doctorate degree to practice, the word is much older. I speak to this older form of the word, one that includes herbal or plant medicine, spirit medicine, and any practice or substance that helps us return to health and wholeness.

I chose these words to name this podcast to give you a flavor of the medicine I offer, for I am a medicine woman, here to remind each of us, and myself, that although we may seek an external medicine to cure what ails us, often, what we truly seek is our own full presence. The best medicine becomes taking a deep breath, being honest with ourselves about how we want to spend our precious life, and cultivating a healthy relationship inside through forgiveness, compassion, and deep listening. Curious to know more?

Join me as I share with you my profound journey from depression to devotion, through anxiety to alignment, and from suffering to sublime satisfaction. I am a storyteller and modern mystic, and I’ll be exploring provocative topics such as death, entheogens (aka psychedelics and consciousness medicine), intimacy and eros, spirituality and religion, meditation and mindfulness, ritual, breathwork, psychology, ecology, diet, embodiment, hypnotherapy, and more. Sometimes I’ll host fascinating guests and experts, and sometimes it will be just you and me, diving deep into the inner landscape and discovering the nectar of our inner wellspring.

Drink deep. Be the medicine you wish to feel inside. Yes, this is a nod to Mahatma Gandhi’s famous quote, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” Same same, but different.

Stay tuned for this new weekly podcast, Be the Medicine: Remember the Remedy is Within with Allison Avalon. Launching this summer.
