Summary
What happens when you lose everything you thought defined your life?
Your marriage. Your business. Your home. Your finances. Your identity.
This episode is an honest conversation about what bankruptcy really looks and feels like behind closed doors. The pressure, the shame, the fear, the judgement, and the emotional impact of watching your entire world unravel all at once.
After a 20 year relationship, building a business, creating a life and then seeing it all come crashing down, I found myself having to rebuild from nothing. Financially, emotionally and mentally.
It also raises some uncomfortable but important questions around how we measure success, where we attach our self worth, and whether the things society tells us matter actually hold any value when life gets turned upside down.
What I’ve realised through all of it is that losing everything gives you a perspective very few people ever experience. When life strips everything back, you stop valuing status and start valuing the basics. Peace. Stability. Food on the table. A roof over your head. The things that actually matter.
There’s so much shame attached to money struggles and failure, especially in a world obsessed with appearances and success. This podcast exists to create honest conversations around those experiences and remind people that bankruptcy is not the end of your story.
