About this listen
Reid Butler, one of Nine's US correspondents, has been hit by a rubber bullet in the US city of Los Angeles whilst reporting on immigration protests.
Speaking to John Burgess, Butler said the "police were firing down the street".
"It was from a distance too, the police kind of firing down the street and it was hitting cars, side mirrors were flying off. That fired up because idiots in the crowd, protestors started throwing things at police. The second that happened, police they shoot those rubber bullets first, ask questions later," he told listeners.
