About this listen

The journey of healing often connects large societal issues with personal, internal work. Atonement, at its core, is the act of making amends or showing remorse for past wrongs. On a societal level, this translates to reparations—concrete actions, financial or otherwise, intended to address and compensate for historical injustices like slavery or systemic oppression. These aren't just payments; they're a societal acknowledgment of harm.

Crucially, this work echoes in our personal lives. The inner child is the part of our psyche that holds the memories, emotions, and hurts of our formative years. When we experience personal trauma or injustice, that inner part is wounded. Self-reparation means offering our inner child the care, validation, and safety it was denied. By seeking atonement from others and offering reparations to ourselves, we integrate historical justice with personal peace, moving from wounding to true wholeness.
