On this week's segment of On This Day in Aviation History, we talk about the 1979 Air New Zealand crash off the coast of Antarctica. This flight had started as an amazing sightseeing opportunity turned sour with a combination of bad weather, bad flight directions, and a volcano in their path. It's interesting to hear about these accidents to see what could've been done differently and use it as a teachable moment.
