About this listen

Mark Winstanley is a teacher, performer and core member of A Ship of Fools Theatre Company.

With his partner Alice Robinson he co-runs The Performers' Playground, an intensive course that aims to help performers and artists become more  playful, light, impulsive, imaginative and free.

The course is highly practical, hilarious and seeks to help you discover  your pleasure on stage. From there who knows where we will go.

In my practise as a bouffon I'm curious to walk the sensitive razor thin line between the audience loving me one minute and hating me the next,  then loving me again all the while taking them further and further out of their comfort zone so that they ultimately  feel something.

As a teacher I question how can I help this student or that student become more alive, more radiant, and more playful on stage.

As I step deeper into becoming a theatre-maker I want to give the  audience an unforgettable night in the theatre, I want them to dream, to  enter a world apart from the mundane, a world as yet unknown to them,  full of mystery, beauty and light.

Come into the light to play.
