About this listen

On today's episode, we talk to Arlie Millyard, ND about the importance of inclusive healthcare. Naturopathic doctor Millyard is the founder of Heal All Consulting, which helps health and wellness practitioners build safe, welcoming, and affirming practices for patients who may feel marginalized and unwelcome in the medical system. This includes: LGBTQ2SIA+ patients, fat patients, disabled patients, patients of color, and other patients who have been mistreated by the healthcare system.

For new listeners, welcome to the Institute for Natural Medicine’s podcast, The ND Will See You Now. In this podcast, we talk to naturopathic doctors (NDs) across North America about their whole-person approach to health, why their work is so vital to patient health, and what patients can expect.

Our host, Anna-Liza Badaloo, is a writer and program consultant, working at the intersection of health, environment, and social justice. With over 10 years of experience at non-profit organizations, she brings a combination of content writing, copywriting, and journalism to her work. Using her strong storytelling ethic, Anna-Liza strives to amplify traditionally silenced voices such as BIPOC, youth, and 2LGBTQIA+ communities. After seven years as the Manager of Education, Community Development, and Pulse Editor for the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND), she knows the North American naturopathic community intimately.

The Institute for Natural Medicine (INM) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, in collaboration with the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP). Our mission is to transform healthcare in America by increasing public awareness of naturopathic medicine and access to naturopathic doctors for patients.

We believe that naturopathic medicine, with its unique principles and practices, has the potential to reverse the tide of chronic illness that overwhelms existing healthcare systems. Naturopathic medicine empowers people to achieve and maintain optimal lifelong health.
