About this listen
Malka Lawrence speaks with the remarkable Melbourne artist Anita Lester, whose work spans music, film, painting, and storytelling. Her art explores memory, identity, and the stories that shape who we are. Anita’s latest project, Portraits of Survival, is a compelling collection of 16 oil portraits of Holocaust survivors, currently on display at the Melbourne Holocaust Museum. These works do more than capture faces, they preserve memory, honour lives, and invite us to reflect on resilience, identity, and the power of bearing witness.
