My guest in this episode is Jay Blades MBE. Jay is a furniture restorer and TV presenter best known for hosting The Repair Shop on BBC 1. Jay spent many years doing youth and community work. He founded two charities, Street Dreams and Out of The Dark which focused on mentoring disadvantaged youth and helping them forge a future. He also worked with the homeless at a shelter in Oxford and with Thames Valley Police to help facilitate better policing of ethnic minorities.

We discuss the importance of community, the power of acceptance and believing that every situation you encounter is happening for good reason, and how sometimes one’s lowest moments can lead to rebirth.
