Entre 2001 y 2020 se acumulan evidencias de la contaminación del río Santiago, así como la negación del problema de parte de autoridades diversas, y un largo historial de denuncias y peticiones ante instancias nacionales e internacionales impulsadas por organizaciones y colectivos. Veinte años después, la problemática permanece, la sociedad civil sigue organizada y en resistencia, con generaciones nuevas que heredan vivir en un ambiente contaminado, con la voluntad y determinación de construir condiciones diferentes.
