Vor fünfzig Jahren gründeten die beiden Musiker Rolf Aberer und Benny Gleeson das Jazzseminar Dornbirn. Es war österreichweit die erste Popularmusikabteilung in einer Musikschule. Jazz schmeckte nach Freiheit, und das Jazzseminar durfte sich als Institution, die nicht auf Leistungsdruck, sondern auf Persönlichkeitsentfaltung setzte, bald über stetig wachsende Schüler*innenzahlen freuen.
