This month the guys sat down with a previous guest and he brought a friend! We have Kalman Tinka and Connor Bos (aka Ghost Mule and Hot Pants) in the studio. During our normal check-in Kyle had a HUGE announcement, he is now engaged! After the rest of the check-in, Trevor covered his homework from the last episode, then we moved onto our main topic. In a bit of a different direction than our normal episodes, we talked about a brand-new route that Kalman and Connor created and will be attempting the summer of 2025 in the Absaroka-Beartooth wilderness in Montana. We talk about the route itself, resupply strategies, the main challenges that the route will present, bear precautions they are taking, portions of the route they are most looking forward to, what makes their hiking partnership work, and finally why they are undertaking this challenge. It was great having Kalman on again and having Connor on for the first time. We are stoked for their trip this summer and wish them all the luck in the world!

This month we sit down with State Park Manager and work acquaintance of Kyle, Lee Dillon. After our normal catch up, we dive right into Lee's experience and opinions on handicap accessibility in the outdoors. Lee has a unique perspective on this as a care giver for his son who was diagnosed with MS and used a wheelchair for the latter part of his life. We talk about measures that are being put in place in the park that Lee works in, prejudices that Lee has observed against handicapped individuals, how this is a personal blind spot for Kyle and Trevor since we are able bodied individuals, and really just how making even small parts of the outdoors accessible to people with mobility issues can greatly increase their quality and enjoyment of life. As we always say, the Outdoors is for EVERYONE! Having Lee on was an absolute delight and it was great to hit on a topic that we haven't really touched on in the past.

We are still here! This month we sit down with a few of our friends that took part in our yearly Adventure Crew Trip. Our destination this year was Isle Royale National Park in Lake Superior. After we did some quick introductions we went straight into talking about our trip. After covering some basics of what our trip entailed, how we got out to the island, if Isle Royale met our expectations, our favorite moments, what wildlife we encountered, a tangent about what a designated wilderness area is, tips for folks that would like to plan a trip to Isle Royale, some comments about group dynamics since this was the largest group we’ve done a trip with and would we go back to Isle Royale.
