The Great Alone is a Semi Autobiographical novel about Kristin Hannah and her life in Alaska. Written initially as a thriller, this coming of age was a beautiful tribute to Alaska and mother daughter relationships. This is one of my favorite Kristin Hannah books because of the dynamics and the characterization. In this episode we will talk plot, characters, and themes of The Great Alone.

We have so many stories of men at war. The heroes that were made and the lives that were lost. However, Kristen Hannah does a great job at telling the stories that have been largely ignored and untold. The stories of the women who lived through these wars and who fought and died for their countries as well. In the novel the Nightingale we hear about two of these women who lived in France during World War 2. In this episode we will be delving into the plot, characters, and themes of Kristen Hannah's The Nightingale.

The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah follows the Martinelli family as they have to leave their family farm and move to California to survive the dust bowl. This is hands down my favorite Kristin Hannah book. I realized I knew very little about the Oakies and their treatmentand I also loved the mother daughter relationship in this book. So join me as I unpack, The Four Winds.
