In questo 30° episodio del podcast, la serie “Arte contemporanea e Cultura indigena” non si ferma e proseguiamo parlando di un’artista di origine inuit, Annie Pootoogook, purtroppo anche lei prematuramente scomparsa come Jaider Esbell, a cui abbiamo dedicato la scorsa puntata. Nell’episodio di oggi ci concentreremo sul lavoro “Bringing Home Food”, realizzato fra il 2003 e 2004. Quest’opera è molto rappresentativa dello stile dell'artista, in quanto nei suoi lavori racconta in modo sincero la quotidianità del popolo inuit, dove usi e costumi occidentali si mescolano con tradizioni antiche. Il suo stile apparentemente naive denuncia problematiche sociali e sfata stereotipi ancora molto radicati rispetto allo stile di vita di questa minoranza.
