Crohn’s disease is part of a larger group of illnesses called inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs). Crohn’s disease is a chronic, or long-term, condition that causes inflammation in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, also known as the digestive system. Dr. Matthew Coates, a gastroenterologist at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center tells us all we need to know about this condition.
