As we approach the holy celebration of the birth of Jesus, we have to be honest with ourselves: it’s almost blasphemous to celebrate the miracle of God becoming flesh while clutching an unforgiving heart. We can’t rock the cradle of Grace while refusing to extend it.

And now—we’re standing at the doorway of a brand-new year. Fresh starts. Clean slates. New mercies. But hear me clearly: forgiveness is not optional if you want to claim all that God has prepared for you. You cannot carry old offenses into a new season and expect new oil.

The Word says it plainly in Ephesians 4:31-32:

“Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”

I’m going to step back now—
