Many times detractors of women of God say, “But if God had intended for women to minister, then He would have chosen a woman among the 12 disciples.”
The Johannine Philadelphia Church is not blinded by false epistles and books written by Greco Roman philosophers. We see that forgers were paid by Caesar to rebuild the revived Roman Empire through false writings. It is clear in The Gospel of John, 2nd John, and Revelation that God chose to ordain apostolic women to lead congregations as mothers. Congregants are called children. The mother of the Lord, the elect lady, was commissioned by God to be the lead apostle of the 12.
John 19:26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold, thy son! 27 Then saith he to the disciple, Behold, thy mother! And from that hour the disciple took her unto his own.
2 John 1: 1 The elder unto the elect [a]lady and her children, whom I love in truth; and not I only, but also all they that know the truth; 2 for the truth’s sake which abideth in us, and it shall be with us for ever: 3 Grace, mercy, peace shall be with us, from God the Father, and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
4 I rejoice greatly that I have found certain of thy children walking in truth, even as we received commandment from the Father. 5 And now I beseech thee, [b]lady, not as though I wrote to thee a new commandment, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. 6 And this is love, that we should walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, even as ye heard from the beginning, that ye should walk in it.
The Lord Chose His Mother To Lead The 12 & The Early Church
We can see that the mother of the Lord was chosen by God to be the lead apostle of the 12 by at least 2 different means.
- She was at the right hand of the Lord in His first miracle in which He revealed His glory changing the water to wine in John 2.
- She was clearly stated to be the mother of John and thus the entire early church by extension in an office of apostolic leadership that made her the lead apostle of the 12.
