Aoife details the new legislation 'Jennies Law' set to be brought before Cabinet. Named in honour of Jennifer Poole who was tragically murdered by her ex parrtner, the law would establish a Domestic Violence Register.

They ask whether the recent robbery at the Lourve is one of the most French crimes ever and hark back to a day when crime stories as entertaining as this one were more plentiful.

Aoife looks at the ceasefire in Gaza and Israels recent behaviour in Palestine that has made reduced hopes of true peace in the region.

And Colm has some personal good news!

And in response to your comments, we've decided to start releasing a bonus episode so keep an eye out for that on Thursday morning! And let us know what you think by emailing us on AFewScoops@GoLoudNow.com

Not for the first or the last time, the housing crisis is on the agenda this week. Aoife and Colm explore the new rules requiring landlords to publicly disclose rent prices and ask why this system didn't exist before.

And they discuss the latest in the Presidential campaign and the proposal for a "smear" campaign.

    Oct 8 2025

Jim Gavin's dramatic exit from the presidential race gives Aoife and Colm plenty to chat about this week as they reflect on his brief campaign and how the amount of money needed to bring down a Fianna Fáil candidate is slowly decreasing as the years go on.

If that's not enough, they also unpack Budget 2026 and the bizarre quotes coming out of the UK party conferences.

The first of the Irish citizens who were on board an aid floatilla headed for Gaza have returned after being held by Israel and Aoife and Colm discuss the importance of these protests which have been dismissed by some as 'publicity stunts'.

And in the North, Belfast City Council has made the historic decision to introduce bilingual signage and logos.

    Oct 1 2025

US president Trump had not one but two mishaps with technology at the United Nations, one with an escalator and the next with a teleprompter. But Aoife asks if all his faffs will be forgotten now that he appears to have brokered a peace deal for Gaza?

Colm is delighted that 'Dad Bods' and the Liberties are both finally getting the recognition they deserve.

The two offer their take on the first televised presidential debate and Aoife explains why she won't be commenting on anyone's wardrobe choices.

There's also a discussion of the tragic deaths in Dublin and Louth and a reminder of the real lives behind the headlines.

    Sep 24 2025

The presidential campaign has finally kicked into gear, so Aoife and Colm have plenty to talk about with Catherine Connolly's comments about Hamas and the unfounded rumours about Jim Gavin.

There's also US President Donald Trump's recent trip to the UK that's caused a stir in the North, the concerning sale of location data, and the end of a pandemic.

It's not the first, or last time, that Kneecap get a shout out in the podcast as they take on a new law suit, this time going up against Canada after being barred from entry.

    Sep 17 2025

Conor McGregor, the presidential candidate who was never even nominated, has withdrawn his name from consideration as the next President of Ireland. Aoife and Colm are much more interested in the wheelbarrow being put forward instead.

In the UK, Prime Minister Keir Starmer's leadership is facing challenges after losing his 'Prince of Darkness' Peter Mandelson when the US Ambassador's close ties to paedophile Jeffrey Epstein came to light. Aoife is surprised that Starmer has held onto the Labour leadership for as long as he has.

The world continues to watch on as Israel commits a genocide in Gaza and as Russian drones encroach on Polish airspace.

Colm does his best to explain the online ecosystem from which right wing leaders Nick Fuentes and the recently murdered Charlie Kirk emerged.

And of course, there's some good news too sent in by you to AFewScoops@GoLoudNow.com
