About this listen

In this episode Annie is joined by the dynamic Gaurav “G” Mehta. Gaurav's journey brought him to Humboldt from Chicago in 2003, where he initially managed 6 Rivers Brewery. His career soon took a significant turn when he entered the world of hydroponics, working with the renowned House and Garden. With the advent of cannabis legalization, Gaurav's entrepreneurial spirit continued to flourish as he partnered with friends to open The Ganjery Distro and The Ganjery Retail, which have become some of Humboldt’s top dispensaries. His dedication to the cannabis industry doesn't stop there; he also founded the Cannabis Culture Club, a unique event that pairs cannabis with various experiences and is held throughout California. Additionally, Gaurav’s passion for music led him to establish El Gee Productions, specializing in Reggae and world music events. Through his efforts, he has fostered a sense of community and love within the Humboldt area.

Recently, Gaurav, along with Ronuk and Roshan Patel, announced the opening of Susukino Ramen Bar, a late-night restaurant in Arcata inspired by Japanese izakayas. With its vibrant atmosphere and live DJ sets, Susukino aims to be a community hub where people can enjoy great food and drinks. Tune in to hear Gaurav’s inspiring story and insights into the evolving cannabis culture, as well as his latest culinary venture.
