故郷や地方は若者を欲しがっている。
内閣府の「地域課題分析レポート2024年秋号」という調査結果より。
就職の決まった大学生の就業先地域について、
大学の所在地別にみると、東京圏（首都圏）の大学を卒業する者が
同じ東京圏を就業地とする域内就職割合は９割近くと高くなっている。
一方で、北関東、大阪圏（京阪神）を除く近畿、四国については、
大学所在地域内に就業する学生の割合が全国平均に比べて低い
希望にかなう就職先の有無である。
実際に、中国地域出身者で地元外に転出した者に対し、
「希望する仕事、やりがいのある仕事があれば地元に残りたかったか」を調査した結果によれば、
約３分の２が地元に残りたかったと回答した
