CONVERSATIONS
In this episode Amanda and I have a lovely and enlightening conversation about the concept of empty nesting and our current perception of it.
Both of us are currently experiencing this phenomenon, so our conversation is about:
· How to change our view of empty nesting
· Allowing ourselves to feel difficult emotions like grief, loneliness, emptiness and even mourning
· How spirituality helps us fill the gap
· Giving ourselves permission to explore this new phase in our lives
· How the thought is worse than the reality
· Exploring beyond the limitations of our personal comfort zones
· Finding magic in the discomfort
· Being grateful for your highs and gracious with your lows
· Slowing down, cultivating presence and giving ourselves permission to have fun and enjoy life
· Finding purpose, peace, freedom, balance, creativity and holding space for all of this to flourish
· Prioritising and rediscovering Self
· Seeking help when you feel you need it
· Exploring the magic of gratitude
· Finding joy in being alone and appreciating the time you have
· Finding a new tribe to hang out with, meeting new people
· Cultivating flexibility, compassion and permission to explore new ways of being
Amanda offers amazing wisdom to challenge traditional ways of experiencing empty nesting. She sought a path of fulfilment beyond her role as a mum.
She started preparing 15 years ago to feel fulfilled when her kids left home.
We discuss the spirit of the eagle and how that can help us cultivate a broader vision of what we experience and better navigate this beautiful transition in our lives.
We hope you enjoy it!
