Dopo l’op.7 e l’op.13, troviamo un’altra sonata pubblicata singolarmente, l’op.22: pagina di brillante impegno virtuosistico, che apre la serie di cinque importanti sonate che vedono la pubblicazione nello stesso anno, il 1802. Nel genere del Concerto è ora il momento di un’altra composizione molto eseguita, il Concerto op.37, nella “fatidica” tonalità di do minore, quella già della “Patetica” e tra qualche anno della Quinta sinfonia: pagina che apre una nuova fase, quella centrale, nella parabola creativa di Beethoven.
