Anche i cambiamenti nella legislazione, come il nuovo codice di procedura penale in Italia, non hanno portato a grandi modifiche nella narrazione cinematografica.
Morreale si sofferma, poi, sul genere dei film processuali e dei legal drama: il processo, sia nell'indagine che nel dibattimento, è strutturato come un dramma teatrale, rendendolo affascinante per il pubblico.
