イエス様はなぜ過越祭の前日にペテロの足を洗ったのですか？イエス様は足を洗われながら、「わたしが何をしているのか、お前が今はまだわからないが、この後わかるようになる」と言われました。シモン・ペテロはイエス様の弟子々の中で最も優れた人でした。彼はイエス様が主(エホバ)の子であることを信じ、イエス様がキリストであることを証しました。そしてイエス様が足を洗われた時、そうしたことには明らかな理由がありました。ペテロがイエス様がキリストであることを告白したということは、イエス様が自分をすべての罪から救ってくださる救い主であると信じたという意味です。
