O Senhor diz no evangelho de João capítulo 6: “Eu sou o pão da vida”. As pessoas se sentiram satisfeitas quando Jesus deu a elas o pão carnal. No dia seguinte, elas foram procurar Jesus novamente, mas Ele disse a elas para trabalhar não pela comida que perece, mas pela comida que permanece para a vida eterna. As pessoas perguntaram então: “Que faremos para realizar as obras de Deus?” (João 6:28). Jesus respondeu: “A obra de Deus é esta: que creiais naquele que por ele foi enviado” (João 6:29).
