  • Advice We’d Give to Our Younger Selves (w. Alyssa O’Toole) | 7FMS118
    May 1 2024

Recently, three of the coaches at Grow (Alyssa, Nate, and Daniel) got together at Brooklyn Music Factory and recorded an episode about the “one thing we’d change” if we could go back.

This is a conversational episode, a thoughtful episode.

As Daniel puts it during the episode… “Learn from my mistakes so you don’t have to make them.”

We’re really proud of this one and there’s something here for everyone…

  • Premium Pricing Model with NO Private Lessons? (w. David C.) | 7FMS117
    Apr 24 2024

We interviewed a studio owner who:

    1. Does not use a private lesson model
    2. Charges ultra-premium rates
    3. Offers “luxury” quality lessons
    4. Caters only to serious adult pianists
    5. Is almost entirely online

So much to learn in this episode.

  • Are You Afraid of Teaching Group Lessons? (w. Greg Genter) | 7FMS116
    Apr 17 2024

In the last year, I’ve really noticed that mid-size and larger academies have a tendency to resist or reject group lesson programs.

Now, they might have a “rock band” program…

    Or a preschool class…

    Or “group makeup lessons”...

Or they might have a small keyboard class…

But they don’t really fully commit to a group lesson structure and convert 200 private students into a group program.

The reasons for this are many and I think the BIGGEST one I’ve noticed is just FEAR.

Unfortunately for them, they are missing out on a TON of benefits that they can get by committing to a group lesson structure as their core curriculum.

So, in this podcast episode, we brought Greg Genter on to talk about fully committing to group, the 3 hidden benefits of running a group in a large commercial academy, how to convert, and much much more.
