Die Bundeslade wurde zuerst aus Akazienholz gefertigt und innen und außen mit Gold überzogen. Aber der Gnadenthron, der auf der Lade platziert war, bestand ausschließlich aus reinem Gold. Und an seinen beiden Enden waren Cherubim platziert, die ihre Flügel ausstrecken und den Deckel der Lade – das heißt den Gnadenthron – zu bedecken, und die Cherubim blickten auf den Gnadenthron. Der Gnadenthron ist, wo Gott Seine Gnade denen schenkt, die zu Ihm durch Glauben kommen.
