هَلْ تَعْرفُ ما هو قانونَ الخطيئةِ؟ نُريدُ أَنْ نحيا حياتنا بكل أمانه، لذا نحن، القديسون وخدام اللهِ، نشعر بجرأة الأسود عندما لا يَخْدمُ جسدنا الخطية فعليًا. لكن حينما يَخْدمُ جسدنا الخطيةِ ويَنغمسُ فيها، فإننا نفقد قوتنا. نحن لَرُبَما نَعتقدُ بأنّنا سَنَكُونُ سعداء وممتلئين شجاعة إذا كنا لن نخطئ فيما بعد، لكن في الواقع، لسنا واثقين بالفعل من أننا لن نخطئ فيما بعد. إنّ قلوبَ القديسين وقلوبِ خدامِ اللهِ تشعر بالتضاؤل والعجز حيال ذلك.
