今回のドラマは三嶋先生のほぼ実話。
当時、就職試験にも「学校推薦」という制度があり、
30倍の競争率を勝ち抜いて受けた就職試験に落ちたという話。
この企業に入れたら、人生安泰と思っていたし、
学校推薦引っ提げて落ちた人はいなかったので安心していた。
ところが落ちた。
大学生の自殺者数は減少傾向であったが、
2019年に増加に転じ近年も高止まりの状況が続き、
年間400人以上が自殺により亡くなっている。
自殺の原因・動機は、
男性では「学業不振」 「進路に関する悩み（入試以外）」が、
女性では「病気の悩み・うつ病」「進路に関する悩み（入試以外）」が上位となっている。
