Summary
You trusted in Jesus for your salvation, but now you think you have to figure out how to live a life good enough to be deserving of that salvation, or for the goodness of God.
You want to be good. You want to please God. But somewhere along the way, you start believing it’s up to you now.
So you strive. You fail. You feel guilty. And you pull away from God.
And the whole time, you’re missing the truth. Again.
You are not saved by your performance. You are not kept by your performance. It has always been Jesus.
We don’t move on from needing Him.
If you feel stuck in that cycle, this episode will help you see why, and what it actually looks like to walk in freedom.
Your problem is not that you keep failing. It’s that you think you’re supposed to succeed in your own strength.
Your failure does not disqualify you. But rather, it reveals your need. And your need is what points you to Jesus.
For Reflection Where am I still trusting what I do instead of trusting Jesus? What am I expecting from myself that God never asked of me? When I fail, do I run to God or pull away from Him?
Scripture Ephesians 2:8–9 Isaiah 64:6 Romans 5:8 Luke 5:31–32 1 John 1:9
