About this listen

Ryan said, "It's getting hard to walk, but with a kite, I can fly." - North Kite Boarding.

He is super rad, adventurous, and a kind guy who is a role model. He has not let Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) is, a disorder characterized by muscle weakness and wasting (atrophy), slow down his thirst for adventure. Ryan has defied what doctors thought he could do with a rare disease and continues to pursue a life without limitations. Ryan and his wife (Nicole) have been sailing and exploring the beautiful Polynesian Islands since 2014. This episode explores Ryan's childhood, what is FSHD, living on a sailboat despite physical challenges, what he's learned about himself through his travels, tipping his old boat, and his deep love for kiteboarding.

This episode will motivate you to chase adventure regardless of your challenges. Furthermore, it will inspire you to buy a sailboat and navigate a nautical expedition.
