Probabilmente fu lei, Marie Luise, di un quarto di secolo più anziana, trasferita a Roma negli anni Venti, a prendere Bachmann sotto la sua ala protettrice e a introdurla nell’ambiente romano. Quello di via Bocca di Leone è il suo penultimo indirizzo. Un appartamento molto bello, vicino a piazza di Spagna, dove detterà tutto il romanzo di Malina a una giovane Pauline Bolzoni, segretaria dell’Istituto Austriaco di Cultura Roma, dove riceverà la notizia del suicidio di Paul Celan.
