Nel suo studio, la governante trova montagne di appunti, il risultato di anni e anni di lavoro e ricerche. Non sapendo cosa farne, decide spensieratamente di prendere tutti quei fogli e bruciarli. Non sapremo mai quanto quel falò sia costato al procedere della matematica di quegli anni.
