אז שוב חצינו את הכביש לאולפני דרים וורקס, והפעם לשרק 2. ואחרי כ20 שנים מסתבר שהסרט הזה כל כך הקדים הזמנו ורלוונטי היום יותר מאי פעם. במהלך הסרט ניתן לראות סוג של ביקורות כלפי תרבות השפע והיופי (עם מיקוד בחוף המערבי של ארה"ב) ואיך בעצם שרק ופיונה מוצאים את האושר בדברים היותר "פשוטים" של החיים. עם לא מעט רגעים מצחיקים באדיבות חמור והחתול במגפיים קבלנו פה סרט משובח, קליל שמתאים לילדים ומבוגרים כאחד.
