About this listen
WARNING: Do not listen to this episode unless you have seen season two of the 2025 DC Studios HBO Max series "Peacemaker" or do not mind hearing key plot points.
Peacemaker is a spin-off series of the 2021 DC film The Suicide Squad. It is written and directed by James Gunn, who along with Peter Safran run the new DC Studios. Season two aired in 2025 on HBO Max. It stars John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, Frank Grillo, and Robert Patrick.
Season two is part of a soft reboot of the DC Universe. Season one took place in the DCEU (or “Snyder-Verse”). After the reboot, Gunn retconned scenes from season one and changed them to fit with the new “DC Studios.” Season two is the third release in the new continuity following 2025’s Creature Commandos and Superman film. Confused? Hopefully, this episode explains it all.
Comedian and podcaster Eddie Pence rejoins the show to discuss Peacemaker and the decisions to alter continuity to fit this new narrative. They also talk about the impending sale of Warner Bros. Discovery and the potential impact that transaction could have on the DC Studio / Gunn-Verse.
