En el Libro de Génesis se explica el objetivo por el que Dios nos creó. Cuando un arquitecto diseña un edificio o cuando un artista pinta un cuadro, lo primero que hacen es concebir la obra que será completada en sus mentes antes de empezar a trabajar en ella. Así, nuestro Dios tenia la salvación en mente antes de crear los cielos y la tierra, e hizo a Adán y a Eva con este objetivo en mente. Y Dios tenía que explicarnos el dominio del Cielo, que no puede verse con nuestros ojos físicos, mediante una analogía con el dominio de la tierra que sí podemos ver y entender.
