Americano, vive in Italia dal 1996, anno in cui ha fondato l’associazione culturale “Reading Retreats in Rural Italy”, che organizza mostre, concerti, eventi culturali e residenze artistiche in vecchie dimore della campagna italiana. Negli ultimi 25 anni, per passione e per caso, è diventato anche un giardiniere.
Il suo giardino era presso il Castello di Galeazza a Crevalcore (Bologna). Dopo i terremoti del maggio 2012, che hanno distrutto il castello, con l’aiuto di amici italiani e stranieri ha portato via i suoi 7000 libri, 300 quadri, 3 pianoforti, 1000 piante e 7 caprette tibetane trasferendosi dapprima a Corte Eremo, a pochi chilometri da Mantova, poi a Borgo Virgilio, dove continua la sua attività presso La Macchina Fissa.
