En contraste avec cela, la Bible ne dit pas que les gens de foi étaient parfaits. Parfois, elle montre leurs fragilités et limites humaines. La Bible dit qu’Abraham suivait fidèlement la Parole de Dieu, obéissait par la foi, même si ce que Dieu lui disait dépassait sa compréhension humaine. C’est parce qu’Abraham croyait absolument la Parole de Dieu comme cela que nous disons qu’il était un homme de grande foi. Dieu a aussi aimé Abraham pour la même raison. Puisqu’Abraham croyait Dieu et le suivait, Dieu lui a donné des bénédictions spéciales, disant:
