En este capítulo, hablamos sobre 3I/ATLAS, el tercer objeto interestelar detectado en nuestro Sistema Solar. Este cometa, observado desde la Tierra y desde Marte, muestra una composición inusual rica en dióxido de carbono que sugiere que se formó en una zona muy alejada de su estrella, en las regiones frías donde los hielos dominan sobre las rocas. Su paso por nuestro vecindario cósmico ofrece una oportunidad única para estudiar cómo se forman los cometas y los planetas en otros sistemas estelares, y para comparar esos procesos con los que dieron origen al nuestro.
