About this listen

Hey y’all, it’s Trish—The Cowboy’s Wife—and in this episode, I’m celebrating Mother’s Day with one of my very favorite people—my mom, Jenny Mansfield. I invited her on to share some of our favorite memories, the good, the awkward, and the downright hilarious.

We talked about what it was like growing up in a strict Assembly of God household, including the time I got scared of the “Holy Ghost” and tried to speak Spanish during church.

We laughed about our crazy neighbor Gaylord, who used to peek in our windows and scare us to death, and we took a walk down memory lane to the simpler days when all we needed was our imagination, some neighborhood friends, and a little blackjack chewing gum.

I also shared how much I appreciate the legacy of my grandma, a true prayer warrior who spent her days on her knees for all of us.

From stealing bubble gum to stealing cars as a kid, this episode is full of stories that shaped who I am today.

Grab a coffee, sit back, and join me and my mom for this heartfelt and hilarious conversation.

You might laugh, you might cry—but either way, I hope it leaves you feeling like part of the family.

Let’s do this.
