لكن إذا أخرجنا الرب من حياتنا، هل نستطيع فعل الخير حقاً؟ هل هناك خير في الإنسان؟ هل يمكن أن نعيش ونحن نقوم بأعمال صالحة؟ ليس للإنسان القدرة على القيام بالصلاح. و كلما يحاول الناس القيام بالأمور على طريقتهم الخاصة، فهم يرتكبون الخطية. يترك بعض الناس يسوع بعد الإيمان به و يحاولون القيام بالصلاح بأنفسهم. ليس هناك سوى الشر فينا جميعاً، لذا لا يمكننا سوى فعل الشر. بأنفسنا (حتى أولئك الذين خلصوا) ، لا نستطيع سوى ارتكاب الخطية. إنها حقيقة أجسادنا.
